The Crest CC was formed in Ilford in 1932, the club had a focus on road races, time trials, track races and club runs (social group rides). For many years the club had it’s own HQ; the Stag Hall in Ugley near Stansted (traditionally time trials were held in this area and a local base allowed for an early start).

Crest were heavily involved with race promotion at Eastway Cycle Circuit in Hackney (the Eastway circuit was moved to Hog Hill when Olympic development began).

Crest racing successes include Ken Kipping and Mick Gray (multiple national timetrial champions), Adam Norris (junior national roadrace champion) and Sue Rogers (women’s world veteran timetrialling bronze medallist). Among our current membership we have some very accomplished road racers and time triallists (both former and current).

We still run a road race and the Crest Spring Road Race is legendary as a tough and gruelling early season event.
