Whistler on Canada’s west coast is best known as a ski resort, which boasts over 4,700 acres of skiable terrain and has hosted the Winter Olympics. Lesser known is that it hosts one of the most scenic Gran Fondo’s in cycling. The Whistler Gran Fondo is a 122km ride from Stanley Park in Vancouver to the Whistler Village, with a total elevation of 7,500 ft.

This year Peter Wragg, one of Crest’s regular riders made the 9 hour flight to Vancouver to take part, with his trusty Giant road bike in tow. The route takes the riders over the iconic Lions Gate Bridge and then onto the Sea-to-Sky highway towards Whistler. The route is fully supported with a dedicated lane for cyclists and plenty of rest stops along the way.
