Crest are a long-established cycling club based on the East London and Essex borders, we have a large membership spread over East London, Essex, Suffolk, Hertfordshire and Cambridgeshire.
The club was formed in 1932 and originated from Ilford, our kit is very distinct and it is always easy to spot a fellow member on the road. Crest’s focus is very much on the social side of cycling; we are a friendly and sociable club and can offer something for all levels of ability in all disciplines. We have members of all ages and there is a wealth of experience and knowledge within the club.
We have weekly Sunday club runs, a Saturday training ride, a Saturday social ride, organised track sessions and frequent trips to participate in Sportives, Audaxes and challenge rides. We also run various tours throughout the year. Crest have something for every cycling discipline: on-road, off-road and track. Our members enjoy all levels of competition and we have been successful at both a local and national level.
Our weekly Sunday club runs normally start in Abridge and prospective members are most welcome to join us. Just drop us a message beforehand so we know to expect you. Alternately, if you want something a little faster and more race orientated, we have a weekly Saturday training ride (split into two groups – fast and almost as fast). There is also our Saturday Social ride if Sundays are a problem and you want something a little more relaxed.
There is a monthly club night on the first Wednesday of each month, at Silverthorn Bowls Club, Ropers Avenue, Chingford E4 9EH, from 7:30pm. We also meet monthly at the George in Wanstead.
More information about becoming a member of Crest can be found on the Joining Crest page.
